Indigo shorts for Indonesian Denim Group. Indigo is a group / community of Indonesian people who share major interests about Denim and Jeans.
Why INDIGO ?
First, it is shorts for Indonesian Denim Group. And also, Indigo is one of the basic colour dye for denim material (“Denim was traditionally colored blue with indigo dye to make blue “jeans,”.), so we think Indigo were perfect word to relate Indonesian with Denim.
INDIGO’ Short History
Years ago, a small group of denim enthusiast were gathered in Jakarta and they shared same passion about jeans. Years after that, there were this “Denim Heads” thread on Indonesian Online Forum named Kaskus (http://www.kaskus.us) and it turns out that Denim Enthusiast in Indonesia (Denim Heads member came from Jakarta, Bandung, Jogjakarta, etc.) is a lot more than you can imagine.
On April 2009, the Denim Heads held their first Gathering in Jakarta. Around 20 people show up, and they decided to make this into a more serious thing. After many discussions and talks, people on denim heads agreed to named this Group as INDIGO. On June 2009, Mr. Andika Putra Perkasa has been chosen to be Indigo’s first President with Mr. Panca Hidayat as the Vice President of the group. From the start, Indigo has been always had a great support from the VM Team and also Massa Jeans and even this Group idea came from Massa’ proud Owner, Mr. R. Sayogo.
For our first actualization, we (Indigo) are planning to held our first event called “Wall of Fades” on November-December 2009. and off course, we expect a great contributions from our Indigo Team and also help from our friends. We always remember this quotation from our first gathering, “Big Things comes from a small Group” and by that, we believe that Indigo will be bigger and better in the future.
